In the quest to create a versatile carving ski, Nordica took a doberman and crossed it with a pit bull. The Multipista shape is a mix of Nordica’s Dobermann race skis underfoot and the tip and tail of the all-mountain Enforcer. The sandwich construction includes two pieces of Titanal, two layers of beech and poplar, and a jelly-filled centre of rubber for dampening. The result is a jackalope with hybrid tendencies. It loved to ride on edge but was easy to pivot. It was quick-turning and also smooth and stable at high speeds. It danced in the bumps and dug into ice with little effort. “A 100-percent all-mountain ski,” said Chris Pawlitsky.  “I loved it after four turns.”

Ryan Stuart
Ryan Stuart has a ski for every possible condition and a jacket to match. Well maybe not quite, but the magazine’s Technical Editor has more than enough of both and can’t wait to test out whatever is coming next. When he’s not testing skis or writing the buyer’s guides, you can’t find him exploring his bumpy backyard on Vancouver Island. @ryan_adventures
