The Evolve is a metal ski with a secret formula. Instead of a horizontal sheet of metal, Liberty has positioned three strips of aluminum alloy vertically through the bamboo, poplar and paulownia wood core. These struts, plus two carbon stringers, create a smooth and quiet ride, like we expect from metal skis, but in a lighter, more forgiving package. “Easy to turn and get on edge,” said slight and fit Val Wootton. “Rode right through the crud.” A fairly soft flex in the tip makes it forgiving in the bumps but takes nothing away from its ability to carve on firm snow. “Impressively versatile,” wrote Deanna Papineau. “I really enjoyed it.”
