The universally praised Kore family of skis gets a full remake this year. The new construction is a mix of karuba and beech wood, two sheets of partially recycled Titanal and graphene. The shape is more progressive, with plenty of rocker and a delayed start to the sidecut. Compared to previous iterations, the new Kore is a little heavier and is more comfortable sliding versus carving. We tested a variety of widths at RMR. They were all fun to ski, but the mid-width 100 hit a sweet spot for exploring the mountain. It ploughed through tracked powder and heavy slush with confidence, was easy to initiate and exit a turn, and had enough rocker to bounce through bumps and swivel through tight trees and steps. “Very easy to do anything,” said Chris Grover. “From groomers to chopped up crud, bring it on!”

Ryan Stuart
Ryan Stuart has a ski for every possible condition and a jacket to match. Well maybe not quite, but the magazine’s Technical Editor has more than enough of both and can’t wait to test out whatever is coming next. When he’s not testing skis or writing the buyer’s guides, you can’t find him exploring his bumpy backyard on Vancouver Island. @ryan_adventures
