Noteworthy 2020: Fischer RC4 Podium GT

Reading Time: < 1 minutes

Usually only top-of-the-line gear comes with all the features. With ski boots, that means if you want all the bells and whistles—heat-mouldable liners, plush insulation, and lightweight and adjustable shells—you also have to buy the 130 flex, no matter how much you weigh or how hard you ski. With the Podium GT, Fischer eliminates the forced choice of stiff boots or lots of features. All three flexes (140, 130 and 110) of the 96mm-last boot come with customizable shell and liner, adjustable cuff and more. It’s the rare race-worthy boot, dialed for the whole mountain, that doesn’t demand a compromise. $900; fischersports.com

Ryan Stuart has a ski for every possible condition and a jacket to match. Well maybe not quite, but the magazine’s Technical Editor has more than enough of both and can’t wait to test out whatever is coming next. When he’s not testing skis or writing the buyer’s guides, you can’t find him exploring his bumpy backyard on Vancouver Island. @ryan_adventures
