SKI CANADA TEST 2022

DYNASTAR E LITE 9 * WOMEN * ON-PISTE * EDITORS’ CHOICE

BEST FOR: Hard carving and fast skiing from first chair to last

Not quite as wild as the unisex Speed, but it’s similar in build and personality. Our women testers found clicking into the E Lite 9 was like tapping into an IV drip of adrenaline. With some gravity, the ski took off like a racecar, accelerating into turns, railing all the way through and blasting apart anything in its way. Construction plays a big part: it’s a sandwich of materials vertically and horizontally. Polyethane plastic sits between the poplar wood core and the edges, adding power and vibration absorption without weight. Fibreglass and Titanal sheets sit above and below the core. Add it all together and testers found a light and lively ski that didn’t bog down or deflect in 10 cm of heavy wet snow. The other models in the family are slightly less demanding. The 9 is, well, a 9. “When you apply pressure, you feel the power of this ski,” said Louise Draper. “A great carver for advanced and up.”
