“A powder ski that doesn’t mind a groomer.” That’s the feedback that sums up the Valhalla. It has a poplar wood core with a beech wood mounting plate, fibreglass sandwich construction, and a rubber wrap to add dampness. It’s light and fairly stiff. Add a generous rocker in the tip and tail, and the Valhalla not only pops out of deep snow with ease, it slashes and dumps speed intuitively. At Backcountry Snowcats, Alycia Traas found it to be “an easy-turning ski that’s stable on steeper ground.” On firmer snow the Valhalla feels powerful and stable on edge, while remaining nimble from a more neutral stance. “Overall,” said Emma Jensen, “it’s a fun ski in powder and off-piste.”
