Don’t hold back with the Spitfire. The faster the speed, the more powerful the carve, the better it feels. “This ski ripped any turn shape I desired,” reported Chris Grover. “It felt like I could go as fast as I dared!” The Spitfire uses the Double Core that Nordica originally developed for its women’s skis and has tweaked for these on-piste carvers. It sandwiches a sheet of Titanal and a dampening layer between two chunks of wood. With full camber and a race plate, it’s a platform for setting and holding an edge. But the Spitfire is also surprisingly forgiving and easy to ski. “It sliced through soft bumps and stayed predictable and agile for adapting to the terrain,” wrote Andrew Casanova. “Quick and easy recovery.” This ski gave testers an adrenaline rush.
