BEST FOR: Intermediates and up looking to improve
The Pagoda Piste is DPS’s take on a resort-focused ski. It mixes the carbon fibre laminate construction perfected by the Utah company, with a lively aspen wood core tip-to-tail, and damping ash laminate under the bindings. Then DPS figured out a way to inject a plastic sidewall right into the wood to add smooth power. The Pagoda is available in four widths and two shapes: C2, which is a more hard-charging, finish-your-turn kind of ski; and RP, a looser feeling, more playful design. We tested the 90 RP and found it an approachable companion. “A great resort ski,” said Scott Ballhorn. Push the speeds and testers reported tip flutter. But otherwise they found plenty of float in powder and a lively feel through a variety of turn shapes and terrain. Forgiving and fun, it’s a great choice for intermediate and advanced skiers who want to improve.
