For once, Americans are paying more. Canadians can buy 32 days of skiing at 16 world class resorts at par, a savings of about 20 percent at present exchange rates. That’s the limited time offer on the Mountain Collective Pass, a lift ticket system that allows two free days of skiing and discounts on additional days and lodging, at 16 independently owned resorts.
It’s just one of many pass, lodging and lift ticket deals aimed at getting skiers onto lifts before the Christmas rush.
The Mountain Collective includes many iconic resorts in the U.S. including Alta, Jackson Hole, Squaw Valley and Aspen. In Canada Revelstoke Mountain Resort, Lake Louise Ski Resort and Sunshine Village are on the team. The pass tops out at 32 free days, but unlimited number of 50 percent off days. The $489 offer ends December 1.
Whistler-Blackcomb falls off the Mountain Collective pass this year, thanks to the purchase of the resort by Vail Resorts. Instead WB will join Stowe and Vail’s 13 other properties on the Epic Pass. It’s on sale until November 19 and includes skiing at all the Vail properties.
These are just some of the many sweet incentives in the early season. Free skiing with a night’s accommodation is popular. Check resort websites for details.
