“Grip it and rip it,” summed up Steve Acciaroli of both the DTX and the slightly more approachable DTI that were tested. They have almost identical construction: a wood core with a carbon wrap and reinforcements around the bindings, and two sheets of Titanal. With a race plate riser under the bindings, this is a combination designed to create G-forces. Both skis felt most at home on packed snow, going fast. A triple-radius sidecut—three distinct arcs along the edge—creates versatility in turn shape. “You can direct the tip through a variety of turn shapes, but it’s so incredibly stable you won’t realize how big you’re arcing until you blow by other skiers like they’re standing still,” noted Tobin Leopkey. You have to take control of these skis and they reward strong technique. If you’ve got both, they will keep you entertained for a lifetime of Ontario skiing.
