“It started out as a physio project after I cut off my thumb in a table saw accident,” said Fred Racansky, Völkl’s man in Canmore, Alberta, “but within six months, I was a paid artist.” Three years later, Racansky’s incredible stained glass artwork, mostly in skiing and winter themes, is hanging in homes, cabins and chalets across North America. “I’m obsessed with it,” says Racansky, and we’re impressed with it. Racansky works both from photographs and a thorough sense of our sport. No agents, no website, not even an email, but he’s reachable at 403/678-7538.
