Ski Canada women tested the My Ranger 90 and 96 at Mount Washington. Testers found both models forgiving, fun and versatile. “An easy-carving ski and really fun,” wrote Shelby Miller of the 90. While instructor Debbie Morrison called the 96 “sweet off-piste” and “versatile.” The guys got jealous and took them for a rip, too. “Wow!” concluded Shane Rowtley. Steve Acciaroli wrote, “Quick and delightful; fun in the bumps.” Part of Fischer’s expansive Ranger series, both skis have a lightweight build of wood and carbon, slight rocker at the tip and tail, and lots of carbon at the tip for reduced swingweight. In heavy slop they asked a little more energy of the user but up until then testers found they were easy to ski, while not going all noodly or skittish at high speed. The 90mm waist size was more versatile for all conditions, while the 96 would be a better choice in snowier places. Either way, they were “easy edge-to-edge, short radius or long, on-piste or bumps; great all-mountain skis,” said Morrison.
